"Emotional systems tend to monopolize brain resources, it's much easier for an emotion to control a thought than for a thought to control an emotion." Joseph LeDoux
Neuroscientist Joseph LeDoux's research describes how some emotions are processed before cognition can occur, meaning that many of our reactions are generated from areas of the brain that don't involve our conscious awareness. It is understood that these areas involve our survival circuits and that automatic responses, emotional reactions and habitual behaviours are influenced by our implicit, subconscious memory. Therefore, we don't have conscious control of these inner mechanisms and trying to consciously override them, with rational thinking is a losing battle.
When a person is unable to change unwanted feelings, responses or behaviours, through will power, conscious effort or ordinary medical or psychological procedures, it is usually an indication that those symptoms result from negative subconscious emotion. P.S.H. therapy is a gentle process of emotional healing made possible by our natural subconscious ability to let go of these feelings and responses. This is a process which occurs quite naturally as we sleep and we now know that we can utilize these inner processes for therapeutic benefit.
P.S.H. utilizes the person's own natural, inner abilities to make change at the subconscious level. The P.S.H. therapist guides the client to that part of their inner resources that has the ability to gently and privately deal with the underlying causes. There is no need to talk through problems, discuss painful experiences or to involve conscious effort and analysis.
The range of problems helped by P.S.H. is quite extensive, because almost any problems can be caused or made worse by the way that we respond to it subconsciously. Many report ongoing benefits from P.S.H. therapy, for a range of different issues, including:
Anxiety
Anger
Addictions
Bad dreams (nightmares)
Compulsive behaviours (OCD)
Chronic pain
Depression
Insomnia
Low self esteem
Panic attacks
any many more...

Disclaimer:Please note that P.S.H. is not meant to be, nor is it claimed to be a substitute for medical treatment. It is the most effective means we have to help people deal quickly, effectively and with a wide range of problems and issues that are the result of subconscious dynamics. If you have concerns about a medical or physical condition, we recommend you first seek the advice of your medical practitioner.
